Raman study of alloy potential fluctuations in Mg(x)Zn(1-x)O nanopowders.

چکیده
The blueshift of near-band-edge emission and excitonic absorption indicate that Zn(2+) ions are successfully substituted by Mg(2+) ions in Mg(x)Zn(1-x)O nanopowders for 0≤x≤0.14. The changes in Raman spectral linewidth and the asymmetry of the E(2) (high) mode for various Mg contents can be well described by a modified spatial correlation model that considers the grain size distribution. With increasing Mg concentration, the alloy potential fluctuations lead to a decrease in the grain size, which is induced by the surplus Mg(2+) that could form MgO clusters surrounding the crystalline MgZnO.

Bandgap engineering of Cd(x)Zn(1-x)Te nanowires.
Bandgap engineering of single-crystalline alloy Cd(x)Zn(1-x)Te (0 ≤ x ≤ 1) nanowires is achieved successfully through control of growth temperature and a two zone source system in a vapor-liquid-solid process. Extensive characterization using electron microscopy, Raman spectroscopy and photoluminescence shows highly crystalline alloy nanowires with precise tuning of the bandgap. It is well know...

High-throughput continuous hydrothermal flow synthesis has been used as a rapid and efficient synthetic route to produce a range of crystalline nanopowders in the Ce-Zn oxide binary system. High-resolution powder X-ray diffraction data were obtained for both as-prepared and heat-treated (850 degrees C for 10 h in air) samples using the new robotic beamline I11, located at Diamond Light Source. ...
متن کاملEngineering Schottky Contacts in Open-Air Fabricated Heterojunction Solar Cells to Enable High Performance and Ohmic Charge Transport
The efficiencies of open-air processed Cu2O/Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O heterojunction solar cells are doubled by reducing the effect of the Schottky barrier between Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O and the indium tin oxide (ITO) top contact. By depositing Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O with a long band-tail, charge flows through the Zn(1-x)Mg(x)O/ITO Schottky barrier without rectification by hopping between the sub-bandgap states. High curren...
متن کاملAb initio investigation of CaO-ZnO alloys under high pressure
Ca(x)Zn(1-x)O alloys are potential candidates to achieve wide band-gap, which might significantly promote the band gap engineering and heterojunction design. We performed a crystal structure search for CaO-ZnO system under pressure, using an ab initio evolutionary algorithm implemented in the USPEX code. Four stable ordered Ca(x)Zn(1-x)O structures are found in the pressure range of 8.7-60 GPa....
متن کاملSpontaneous ordering in (Zn,Be)Se: A vibrational study by Raman scattering and first-principles calculations
The recent finding of a 1-bond→2-phonon behavior at the zone center in several A1−xBxC random zincblende mixed crystals, that mirrors a similar 1-bond→2-mode behavior in the bond length distribution, deviates strongly from the traditional 1-bond→1-mode (phonon, bond length) description of the local lattice relaxation in alloys, and thereby forces to rethink the scenario of spontaneous ordering ...
